Controversy Lana Del Rey and her debut single “Video Games” remixed by House legend Mr. Fingers. I have heard on thousands of stupid comments by every random ass-holes about Lana Del Rey… and don’t wanna hear any more. She has a undeniable talent and I’m truly enjoying her vocal. That’s all I care. Larry Heard as a remixer has done great job turning “Video Games” into hypnotic soulful related tune, as one legend should do.

Two of house music’s most established main room stars finally join forces for “La Verdad (Sentimiento)”, a latin-tinged dancefloor bomb that blows a triumphant ray of sunshine across Europe’s fast-darkening shores. As you would expect from these two masters of the beat, the groove is irresistible and the drums are second to none, with both Madrid and Valencia versions delivering the four to the floor goods with aplomb.

Italian producer Simone Fedi, hailing from Tuscany, takes things to a whole new level on this third release on Eskimo Recordings. “Bitter Devotion” is a vocal pop gem with a Balearic tinge, but its bittersweet vocals and the addictive melody will haunt you. For this tune Fedi, a multi-instrumentalist with a knack for pop music and a soft spot for vintage gear, joined forces with a mysterious singer named Lola Rent, and this turns out to be a winning team. Rare tune that you will enjoy listening from first till last second!

House legend – Carl Cox is getting into spotlight preparing for us his upcoming album “All The Roads Lead To The Dancefloor” after almost 6 years of waiting! His second single from that album – “Nexus” is incredibly housematic, if we can say, with great vocal and clipping drive while techno wizard Tomy DeClerque manages to pump it up into his recognizable dark and energetic style. Wicked tunes!

After a six month hiatus, ATFC returns to the loving embrace of Defected with a superb slice of vocal, tech-edged house music. Penned by Rae but performed by Lisa Shaw - “Walk Away” is typically ATFC; slick, driving beats, dominant synth stabs and polished, techy drums with Shaw’s superb vocal bringing the whole package together perfectly. As ever with ATFC there are a few version to choose from too, with the Lektrosoul Dub and Instrumental versions stripping back the vocals to leave the elements of the track exposed, while VB Weekender versions build themselves around a funk-strut bassline and dreamy chords.

D-Malice’s next release can be described as saxophonic, vocal and deep. Remix that is done for Plastik Philosophy is all about that saxophone in the background, smooth soulful vocals of Rebecca Knight and underground synths. Well complexed tune that certainly should found a place in your case. Enjoy!

After the success of The Pimp : Everyday on SSOH label, the young and impressive French trio comes back, fully exploiting the sultry vocals of Roland Clark to provide a devastating slice of pure house. Benedetto & Farina’s original mix effortlessly flexes percussion groove, jazz trumpet across Roland Clark’s silk-like vocal arrangement, while the Claude Monnet’s remixes take the original and gives it an altogether darker twist, using wooden percussion samples with genius precision and inducing a slightly more eerie feel while managing to keep the rhythm and the pace of The Pimp Original cut.
The Pimp , sunset and Brain mixes add beautiful dreamy synths and strings to his re-lick, pushing the more dramatic elements of the Original for more of a deep house feel.

One of the biggest sign-ups this year for Defected was Human Life with their single tune “In It Together”. We heard dozens of remixes but we know that only house masters like ATFC can do it like it should! Electronic synths with FXed voices and funky bassline with quality claps and percussions makes this tune a peak-time bomber! Must-have!

This is the debut release for Doman & Gooding’s brand new label – Superficial Recordings. These remixes gained huge radio support worldwide and for this release they have teamed up with acclaimed singer songwriter Heather Bright. In original version which is made to play you will get the heavy progressive piano synths in a combination with rolling beats. It goes more mainroom and the original is really effective in clubs. But our true pick is After Life’s remix that gives true Ibiza vibe with calm and smooth beats which makes you “there” if you just close your eyes. Incredible EP!

“I Believe” stands out with it’s soulful, melodic hook, based on a massively grooving beat-section, while Ce Ce Rogers’ unique voice brings the track to the next level. A level which should be called soul-heaven. Beside the Original Version there are several massive remixes pushing this package even to a higher level. After their latest releases on Strictly Rhythm, CR2 and Subliminal Chris Montana & Etienne Ozborne team-up again to deliver an outstanding proggy interpretation of that classic tune.

The diversity that know to bring DJ Chus & David Penn is really outstanding. From true house to organic Iberican house and all the way to bigroom anthem like “Story Of My Life”. Really incredible tune that will for sure push Iberican League in front of Swedish House Mafia. Top tune in September!

We had such a hunt few weeks ago on this song when Jamie Lewis aired it in his Purple Music Radioshow. It was almost hypnotic with the bassline, dark FXs and clipping percussions. On top of that the vocal, oh man, the vocal is stunning as it sends out direct message that “You’re Calling Me…” Blend of progressive and soulful house which makes it a masterpiece that worths every penny!

Incredible “Cut Me Down” was the bi-product of this year’s IMS Conference in Ibiza where Sasha was assumed the honor of creating the 2011 IMS Anthem in conjunction with Burn Studios. The track was then handed over to Layo & Bushwacka for the masterclass in remixing. Their stunning mix appears on the flipside with full L&B signature riffs, basslines and bouncy drums. Really wicked tune and remember wicked is good!
