After a six month hiatus, ATFC returns to the loving embrace of Defected with a superb slice of vocal, tech-edged house music. Penned by Rae but performed by Lisa Shaw - “Walk Away” is typically ATFC; slick, driving beats, dominant synth stabs and polished, techy drums with Shaw’s superb vocal bringing the whole package together perfectly. As ever with ATFC there are a few version to choose from too, with the Lektrosoul Dub and Instrumental versions stripping back the vocals to leave the elements of the track exposed, while VB Weekender versions build themselves around a funk-strut bassline and dreamy chords.

After the success of The Pimp : Everyday on SSOH label, the young and impressive French trio comes back, fully exploiting the sultry vocals of Roland Clark to provide a devastating slice of pure house. Benedetto & Farina’s original mix effortlessly flexes percussion groove, jazz trumpet across Roland Clark’s silk-like vocal arrangement, while the Claude Monnet’s remixes take the original and gives it an altogether darker twist, using wooden percussion samples with genius precision and inducing a slightly more eerie feel while managing to keep the rhythm and the pace of The Pimp Original cut.

We had such a hunt few weeks ago on this song when Jamie Lewis aired it in his Purple Music Radioshow. It was almost hypnotic with the bassline, dark FXs and clipping percussions. On top of that the vocal, oh man, the vocal is stunning as it sends out direct message that “You’re Calling Me…” Blend of progressive and soulful house which makes it a masterpiece that worths every penny!

Incredible “Cut Me Down” was the bi-product of this year’s IMS Conference in Ibiza where Sasha was assumed the honor of creating the 2011 IMS Anthem in conjunction with Burn Studios. The track was then handed over to Layo & Bushwacka for the masterclass in remixing. Their stunning mix appears on the flipside with full L&B signature riffs, basslines and bouncy drums.
