After a six month hiatus, ATFC returns to the loving embrace of Defected with a superb slice of vocal, tech-edged house music. Penned by Rae but performed by Lisa Shaw - “Walk Away” is typically ATFC; slick, driving beats, dominant synth stabs and polished, techy drums with Shaw’s superb vocal bringing the whole package together perfectly. As ever with ATFC there are a few version to choose from too, with the Lektrosoul Dub and Instrumental versions stripping back the vocals to leave the elements of the track exposed, while VB Weekender versions build themselves around a funk-strut bassline and dreamy chords.

We had such a hunt few weeks ago on this song when Jamie Lewis aired it in his Purple Music Radioshow. It was almost hypnotic with the bassline, dark FXs and clipping percussions. This latest Lovebirds EP on Winding Road Records is another absolute masterpiece of chilled house soul and deep rave. A really excellent package and a must-have Lovebirds release. On the A-side track, “Want You In My Soul”, Lovebirds teams up with vocalist Stee Downes. Stee’s acclaimed debut album “All in a Day” was released on Sonar Kollektiv in 2008, and who has worked and performed alongside the likes of Motor City Drum Ensemble, Amp Fiddler, DJ Spinna, and Bugz in the Attic. Their collaboration for Winding Road is a driving vocal house bomb that will rock your world. Hot stuff indeed and Traxsource No.1!

The original mixes of “Take Your Time” incorporate hypnotic strings, spacey synth’s and a deep dub bass that chugs along with Kristen’s big vocal harmonies.
