Loleatta Holloway died… R.I.P. :(

One of the most sampled voices in music history has died after slipping into a coma. According to a statement issued by her managers, Chicago-based singer Loleatta Holloway passed away yesterday after a lengthy illness. Holloway began her music career in the ’60s, singing on various soul recordings. Her body of work included several top-selling albums in the 1970s, scoring the hit “Dreamin’” in 1976 and contributing vocals to “Re-Light My Fire” for Dan Hartman. Known for her bold, soulful voice and spirited lyrics about love, her biggest hit came in 1980 in the form of “Love Sensation,” a song that has been sampled in countless house tracks and was incorporated into Black Box’s 1989 international pop smash “Ride on Time.” Loleatta Holloway was 64. /// Source

She also provided the hook for marky mark’s good vibrations, which was also from the song love sensation. Unlike the Black Box “Ride On Time” which sampled the classic, Loletta rerecorded vocals for “Vibrations”.

Her music should be spread everywhere so people could never forget her! I really wonder that SHE will have some use from buying her track? Oh, but label manager might will!
