CHRIS LAWYER PRESENTS THE MUSIC CASE – IMANOS INTERVIEW

^1 Hey ImanoS, since I know you very well why don’t you introduce yourself to (Radios Name) readers and other worldwide?

Hey guys. I am 22 years old, living in Vancouver, Canada and I love DJing & Producing ;)

^2 We are getting into new decade, so tell us what sound will prevail in future? More progressive, techno or electro house? What are you expactations on the scene?

Well I think big room progressive has really peaked now with DJ’s like SHM signing with EMI, however I think tech house is still growing and expanding and I think the music and scene is moving towards that direction.

^3 What are you up to currently? Any new releases or remixes can we expect?

I have signed up with LoudBit Records from Italy with the tracks “How We Do” and “Poison” both of which I think will do really well and have a few upcoming remixes you should look out for. I’m also just starting a project with someone from Serbia, Ton Def and the track is called “Evil Woman”.

^4 What does your set up looks like (at home or in studio)?

My studio consists of some KRK Monitors, AKAI MPK 49, AKAI APC 40, my M-Audio sound card and my laptop. It’s a very budget friendly setup and still fairly effective.

^5 What do you prefer to use from DJ gear when you are playing?

I’ve become very accustomed to using my APC 40 I enjoy it a lot along with a DJM 800 pretty much does the trick.

^6 Who is you favorite producer/DJ and with who would you like to collaborate?

There is too many! For big room sound I’d love to try something with Avicii, or AN21 & Max Vangeli and on the tech side I really like Butch, Tim Green, and Pirupa.

^7 Where would you love to play that you haven’t played yet?

Serbia & Hungary of course! :)

^8 You are pretty young and talented producer. Tell us who influenced the most on you to make the music that you make?

Well when I was younger I would say hip-hop producers like DJ Premier were my influence now I would say it’s more artists like Riva Starr, Gramophonedzie, Thomas Gold.

^9 What’s your opinion about internet sharing music and sites that post music freely? Do you see there any advantages or disantvantages for producers/DJs?

I think the blogs and sites posting music for the most part are a good thing especially with free tracks, promotional bootlegs and for up & coming artists it’s the best way to get recognized. Although I do understand how difficult it can be for an artist like Dirty South who’s tracks have been leaked months before the scheduled release, that definitely would sting.

^10 Do you have any advices for upcoming young producers/DJs?

Keep up on working on tracks/bootys send them to blogs and DJ’s if you think they are good these ways you will get noticed and meet other producers and DJ’s and build up a network and good relationships.

^11 Which software do you use for producing and why?

Logic, Ableton, FL Studio.. All of them have pluses and minuses however right now at the moment I am using FL Studio the most again, and just getting re-acquainted with it as I have not used it in many years.

^12 One shot questions. I tell you one word you give me your association to it, ok?

a) Hungary – Beautiful Scenery, Beautiful Women :)
b) WMC – The place to be
c) Hey – Hey Hey! Dennis Ferrer is a genius!
d) Nugen – Tune in!
e) 6 more months to go.

^13 Any last shoutous for (Radios name) crowd, house people or friends/family?

Thanks to anyone who enjoys my tracks/mixes and I hope you enjoy this mix!

  1. The Grim Reaper Says:

So, Dirty South doesn’t like it when his tracks are leaked months ahead of release, does he?

There is a very simple answer to that dilemma, Mr Dragan Roganović – release your records quicker. Alternatively, be more careful who you give your test pressings to!

  2. Danni Says:

Hey, nice work on your mix, i really enjoyed it. I hope you soon come to Hungary to make party people go wild!
