Big Life Records continue their assault on this summers’ dance floors with their second installment of remixes from their extensive back catalogue. Following on from the early tastemaker success that Blue Pearl’s ‘Naked In The Rain 2009’ received, Big Life have upped the ante with fresh new mixes of Yazz’s ‘The Only Way Is Up.’ In July 1988 this song gave Big Life records their first number one and set the label up to have an excellent run of top 40 hits which lasted over 10 years. Fast forward to today, the a&r team at Big Life have put together a remix package that covers every corner of the dance floor.

First up on remix duties is Miami’s finest Robbie Rivera who holds down his own residency at Amnesia in Ibiza with his club night, Juicy. On this mix he holds the original vocal up above euphoric trance pads before delivering a huge ‘Juicy’ style bassline that he is so famous for. Sure to be a hit across the White Isle this summer.

To complement this mix we have the Goshi Goshi remix which takes proceedings very much into the Fidget House / Wonky Electro floors. The mystery producers have been receiving plenty of attention from the likes of Radio 1’s Kissy Sell Out, Andy George & Jaymo and Kiss FM’s Loose Cannons with their first few productions. On this mix the theme is “up” and “up” and “up” with a bassline that slowly builds and builds before breaking down to a mashed up vocal chorus using the original parts.

The hotly tipped production duo, Tastemakers are also called upon to deliver a more radio friendly club interpretation of the original and they deliver in abundance with a huge synth lead that complements the electro bassline effortlessly. Under their funkier guise of Soulmakers they also deliver a soulful funky house mix that still has all the euphoria of the original.

Ben Preston teams up with long time production partner Nathan C and delivers a more progressive house remix of the original, which should follow the support he has been receiving from the likes of Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren and Sander Van Doorn. Last up on the package sees the Clubland generation catered for with the intense Quebec remix which takes the original on a vocal trance journey.

The release date for the package is 7^th September following a summer long promotional campaign which starts here.

Ok everyone, the first releases from Emmerson & Honeywell have dropped and boy, are the sales good beginnings. Bass P have done amazing in the dance and house charts on over 17 download sites and after signing various new producers to the label, things are going from great to amazing. Expect the new EPs and remixes to be hiting download sites very soon.

With several years of production and DJ talent this duo really do impress and know their stuff with spine tingling synths and kicks to make hairs stand up. They know what a good track needs and should have!

Chris Emmerson & Jason Honeywell started at most did, as DJs, then one day thought “I know how that was made!” or “What if this was added…” so decided on a path of pure production.

Watch out for these boys as they carve up house music everywhere as a duo! Their style would be considered as peak time funky house and with backing from the likes or Paolo Aliberti, The Bulgarian, Kiss, Roni Size and so many more, it’s looking very good.

In what other words can I describe this set? Hmm… Let me think… Oh, I have one… BEST F*CKING TIME EVER?!  They took our ear drums and raped it! Everything, from the begining of the set with Daft Punk intro, until they finished it, went so well. Steve jumped up & down, Seb screamed & jumped also, we were jumping & chearing… Even though they started at 3:30 AM, Prydz & Beyer were after them, so we knew waiting will pay itself later on. And it did. Voodoo called me at 4 AM screaming in the phone speaker… All hyped. Overall, the guys killed it. Definitely the best time of our lives!

Thank you Steve, Seb, Eric & Adam! We wish to see you next year with Axwell & Luke if possible,heh…

All of you might know him by the name of ‘Out Of Office’ better, but that’s his alias for more electro genre approach. With this song, Michael has gone more progressive and boy, he did a good job. ‘Drop Zone EP’, which is scheduled to be released on 22/07/09, has some bombs onto it. Both ‘Drop Zone’ mixes, Club and Dub, also ‘Made In South America’ can be heard at his MySpace player.

We received a preview of ‘Drop Zone (Club Mix)’ and for me, it has that traveling feeling, you know… Looking at the window while stuff is passing by…

Anyway, so far it’s been supported from Pete Tong, Mark Knight, Judge Jules, Matt Darey (Nocturnal Radio), Steve Smart (Kiss 100), Big Al (Kiss FM), Andi Durrant (Galaxy FM), Krystle Weaver (Forth One FM), and pretty much every other major dance radio station in the UK.
